What will students be able to do by the end of the lesson?
Students will be able to use the internet as a research tool
Students will be able to navigate a website
Students will be able to use map skills
Students will understand the importance of the role of economics in their lives Are we going to remove this objective? I think we should~ Kathleen
Students will understand the history of St. Augustine
Students will understand how human activity affects the physical environment
Students will know ways in which people view and relate to places and regions differently
For my lesson I will take out St. Augustine. I think all of the others could work for any grade. - Wendy
Britt's suggested objectives (maybe added to Connie's?):
Students will be able to navigate to a Florida destination in Google Earth.
Students will be able to locate and identify key historical sites/landmarks of the destination using Google Earth. Should we include criteria such as "Students will locate and identify THREE key historical sites...."?
Students will be able to articulate the historical significance of these sites/landmarks in an oral presentation.I like this objective, but I'm not sure we have enough time to have them develop and present orally in one lesson. If we decide to use this as part of the lesson, we need to develop a rubric for assessment. - Vicki
To get full credit for the objective portion, Dr. E writes:
Objectives are written in terms of the learner and are measurable. They are directly related to subject matter presented and related to learner analysis. Evaluation mechanism in place related to objectives. Comprehensive, clear, and appropriate.
I think we should have the students go to one of the destinations they have studied in class -- so they can use the technology to enhance their learning experience. -- Britt
From Denise:
Since the objectives have to be measurable, we need to include numbers: I
85% of students will be able to navigate to a Florida destination in Google Earth
85% of students will be able to locate and identify, etc.
